Alyssa is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who believes that healing happens through safe, nurturing relationships. She completed her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016, but credits her time as a foster parent as being the most formative experience in her approach to therapy. She has training in Theraplay (tm), which is a fun and effective way to build attachment between children and their grownups, Sand Tray Therapy, which allows clients to process feelings without needing to put them into words, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a gentle mindfulness approach to healing past trauma.
Alyssa has a special passion for families, teens, and children as well as for clients processing past trauma. She believes that every person on the planet has infinite worth, and she works to help you see that value in yourself and in your loved ones. In the words of her personal hero Mr. Rogers, “I like you just the way you are.”
When not in session, Alyssa enjoys homeschooling her two children. She also loves tea, libraries, gardening, and all things Dolly Parton.
