AMANDA JOHNSONAmanda believes clients are the experts in their own lives. Together, through open and honest communication, Amanda works with clients to identify primary issues and concerns, establish achievable goals, and integrate tailored therapeutic techniques to meet the client’s individual needs. Amanda provides a safe, non-judgmental space to support clients in their efforts to achieve personal growth as they learn to identify automatic thought patterns and faulty assumptions contributing to unwanted feelings and behaviors, recognize their own natural strengths, and learn effective coping skills. Additionally, she encourages clients to actively engage in the therapeutic benefits of ecotherapy, which involve activities in nature (walking, gardening, meditation, caring for animals, mindfulness, etc.), as a way of improving mental and emotional well-being.
When not with clients, Amanda enjoys catching up on the latest TV series, watching sports, participating in her fantasy football league, working in the garden, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and dogs. Amanda is a Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Capella University, where she graduated Cum Laude. Currently, she is completing her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, where she is set to graduate Summa Cum Laude.
