Carrissa received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Central Michigan University and is currently completing her master’s degree in counseling psychology from National University in Rancho Cordova. Carrissa spent the first portion of her training doing a fusion of Play Therapy and CBT with adolescents, both on the autism spectrum and with severe depression.
Carrissa believes that the most important thing about therapy is your comfort level with your therapist, and that the client should choose the goals they would like to work on. Her theoretical orientation is a psychodynamic approach with an emphasis on attachment. In her spare time Carrissa enjoys playing chess, playing with her Queensland Heelers, and going to outdoor concerts.
