Karen takes a strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy, helping each client to connect with their inner resources and values, and co-create their goals and outcomes. She brings compassion, empathy, support, and acceptance to each therapeutic relationship. She is especially passionate about working with parents, couples, teens and young adults, people experiencing grief, and those within the LGBTQ+ community, for whom she is an ally. She is a trained Brainspotting practitioner. Karen received her BA in Psychology from Pomona College and her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Global. She came to Hearts and Hands after working for many years as a life coach, trainer, and parent educator. In her free time, Karen enjoys traveling, exploring new places, concerts, camping, games and puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
