Sabrina Griswold ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL COUNSELOR
Sabrina graduated with her degree in psychology from Sacramento State University and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling. She also has experience working for the National Suicide Prevention Line, which has proved invaluable in furthering her education in trauma work.
Sabrina believes in a collaborative approach to counseling; both counselor and client are equal partners in approaching the client’s presenting issues. Meeting clients where they are, as well as focusing on the ‘here and now’ is paramount in Sabrina’s approach. She feels it’s necessary to separate the person from the problem, empowering her clients, the experts in their own lives, to identify and make the changes they deem important. She views the therapist as a tool to help achieve the individual’s goals, and uses a strengths-based approach in her relationship with clients. Working with women is of particular interest to Sabrina, acknowledging that gender expectations can have a huge influence on a client's life experiences.
In her free time, Sabrina enjoys equestrian sports and a tranquil rural life with her pets. She enjoys travel and has lived in major cities both in the US and around the globe, which helps her to better understand clients from other walks of life. At the end of a busy day she loves to get lost in a good book.
