Valerie CaninoValerie is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee who offers a supportive and caring environment where clients can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. She works from an integrative counseling approach, blending techniques from different therapeutic models to meet each client’s unique needs. Valerie views therapy as a collaborative journey, supporting clients as they work through challenges and discover new opportunities for healing and growth.
Grounded in a client-centered philosophy and informed by evidence-based practices, empathy, and intuitive awareness, she creates a therapeutic space that encourages exploration, resilience, and meaningful change. While Valerie enjoys working with clients from all backgrounds, she has a particular passion for supporting adolescents, parents, families, and those who identify as highly sensitive or empathic. Valerie is currently pursuing her M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Before beginning her graduate training, she practiced law, providing counsel, mediation, and conflict resolution to individuals and communities. She later transitioned into community advocacy and life coaching, supporting parents, teens, and highly sensitive individuals in building confidence, strengthening communication, and fostering healthier relationships. These experiences continue to shape her work as a therapist, grounding her in empathy, insight, and a deep respect for each client’s process of growth and change. |
